What is ANPR / camera parking?
ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) — also called camera parking — is often the most convenient way to park. Cameras at entry and exit read your licence plate and the session is handled automatically in the PARKPARK app.
Plate readThe camera reads your licence plate at entry. |
Session runsThe session runs automatically — you don't need to do anything. |
SettledThe session is stopped automatically at exit. |
ANPR in three steps
ANPR locations are marked on the map with a small camera icon. When you've enabled camera parking on your vehicle, this happens automatically:
▶ |
Automatic flow |
1 |
The camera reads your plate as you enter. The session starts automatically and you get a push notification. |
2 |
As you exit, the plate is read again and the session ends automatically. You get a second push notification. |
3 |
You only pay for the time you actually parked. Special rules — e.g. one hour free — are taken into account. |

If the camera couldn't read the plate
In rare cases our partner can't read the plate on exit — e.g. if it's covered in dirt, snow or leaves. Then the session continues in the app.
PARKPARK reviews all ANPR sessions daily and stops the few that weren't read correctly. If we haven't gotten to yours yet, you can:
- 📝 Use the form at parkpark.dk/hjaelp-faq
- 📞 Or contact customer service at 72 300 200 / kundeservice@parkpark.dk
You'll only ever be charged for the time you actually parked.
